The Couple
Amy came to me through a family connection, and from our first conversations, she and Luke were both so relaxed and lovely.
They had already shared many years together and created a beautiful family with their two boys. Their wedding was not about beginning their life together. It was about celebrating the life they had already built, making it official and having a really great party with the people they loved.
Amy was incredibly easy to work with. She knew what she was drawn to, but trusted me to bring everything together in a way that suited the season, the venue and the relaxed feeling of the day.
The Vision
Amy loved Australian natives, but wanted the flowers to feel soft and romantic rather than overly rustic. We settled on a palette of blush pink, white and muted green, combining the wonderful shapes and textures of native flowers with softer seasonal blooms.
With no traditional bridal party, we were able to focus on a few key floral moments. Amy’s bouquet was especially important, along with the ceremony flowers that would frame her and Luke against the ocean.
There was another very special handmade element to the day: Amy made her own wedding dress. She worked on it for months and somehow managed to keep it hidden from Luke. Knowing how much love and work had gone into the dress made creating the bouquet to sit alongside it feel even more meaningful.

In Bloom
The flower recipe included king protea, banksia, blushing bride, chrysanthemums, lisianthus, spray roses, Geraldton wax, berzelia, hypericum and eucalyptus.
Together, they created a beautiful mix of softness and texture. The large native flowers gave the designs shape and presence, while the blush roses, white blooms and delicate wax flower softened the overall look.
Amy’s bouquet brought the whole palette together. It felt full and generous without becoming too formal, and the trailing ribbon gave it a soft finish against her handmade dress.
For the ceremony, I created three arrangements raised on plinths and two arrangements at ground level. Seven smaller compote arrangements carried the same palette through to the reception tables.
The Day
I created, delivered and installed everything myself, so it was a very big day—but also such a rewarding one.
One of the loveliest parts was delivering Amy’s bouquet and seeing her reaction. She was so excited and told me it was everything she had dreamed of. After spending so much time imagining how all the flowers would come together, seeing how happy she was made the work completely worthwhile.
The ceremony flowers framed Amy and Luke against the ocean at Noah’s on the Beach. Once the ceremony was over and the room was changed for the reception, the flowers were given a second life. The plinth arrangements were repositioned to frame the couple, while the ground arrangements moved to the gift table.
The day felt very much like a celebration of family.
Amy and Luke’s boys were included throughout, and their speeches were both adorable and incredibly heartfelt. Later, they proved they could hold their own on the dance floor too
The Moment
On the morning of the wedding, Amy gave me a necklace that had belonged to her grandmother and asked if I could attach it to her bouquet.
I carefully secured it among the ribbon and stems while Amy watched on. It was a small detail, but such a meaningful one—something from her grandmother carried with her as she walked down the aisle.
The photograph of me concentrating as I attached it makes me smile. It captures one of those quiet parts of a wedding day that might only take a few minutes, but means so much.
Later that evening, I returned to wrap the flowers for Amy and Luke’s guests. People were genuinely surprised when they realised they could take the flowers home, and the bouquets quickly became a very popular alternative to traditional wedding favours.
It was such a lovely way to finish the day: watching the flowers leave in the arms of the people who had come to celebrate Amy, Luke and the beautiful family they had already created together.
Client Words
“A million thank yous for what felt like a million flowers. The flowers far exceeded what I could have imagined. The colours, the arrangements and the amount of flowers. Every time I look at my bouquet, I am just so in love!
My biggest advice to any bride is:
1. Book Michelle
2. Add the Flower Wrapping service.
Thank you Michelle for being so amazing! You are magic with flowers.”
